Matthew S. Palmer ,61, stepped into the presence of Glory on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Gonzales.
A devoted father, grandfather, business owner, resident of Gonzales and native of Baton Rouge. He graduated from Broadmoor High School.
Survived by his daughter, Kristin Marie Palmer; sons Johnny Burton and wife, Jessica, and Devin Burton and wife, Kacie; fiancé Angela Forsythe and her children, Jory and Jada; brothers Clinton Palmer Jr. and wife, Debi, and Mark Palmer and wife, Melissa; grandchildren Emily, Gavin, Braylee, KiLyn, and Wyatt.
Preceded in death by his wife, Tina Marie Palmer; parents Clinton Sr. and June Palmer; and infant brother Paul Palmer.
He was a member of the Christian Church of Baton Rouge. He loved Cajun dancing, fishing, trips to Grand Isle, and was a handy man of all trades.
Visitation will be held on Friday February 8, 2019 at The Church at St Amant 6 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will resume at 10 am on Saturday until time of the service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery Galvez.
