Ellen A. Granier

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Ellen passed away peacefully in her sleep at Gonzales Healthcare on December 31, 2018, at the age of 96. She was a native of Brittany and a resident of French Settlement. Visitation will be Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 10 am to 12 pm at First Baptist Church in French Settlement – 16735 LA Hwy. 16. Services will follow conducted by Pastor Herman “Herb” Cowen. Interment will be at the church cemetery. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Clement and her husband Charles, and Sharon Bowlin and her husband Richard; her son, Kerry Granier; 9 grandchildren, Ellen Ballard and her husband Dale Mitchell, Christy Everette, Aimee Davis and her husband Brad, Josh Granier Canada, Wynter Granier Canada, Regina Bowlin, Sarah Bowlin, Brandy Ayers and her husband Alvin, and Melissa Beecham and her husband Phillip; 13 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reginald and Evie Hurst Johnson; her husband, Albert Granier; an infant son, Victor Granier; daughter, Rebecca Smith and her husband David; sons, Albert Granier, Jr. and Leslie Paul Granier; sisters, Helen Cedotal and her husband Spalding and Joyce DeBlanc and her husband Rene. The family expresses their heart felt appreciation and thanks to the staff, nurses, aides, and residents at Gonzales Healthcare and Hospice Compassus for their loving care for our Mom.
