Douglas Keith Mcrae Jr.

Douglas Keith McRae Jr. 74, of Covington, Louisiana succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on December 16, 2018.Douglas is survived by his wife Janet C. McRae of 48 years, his children Jennifer R. McRae and Douglas Keith McRae, III, His siblings Gregory McRae, Shelly McRae Wild and Rodger McRae, and his loving grandchildren Gabriel, Kyleigh, Mackenzie and Alexander.Douglas aka Mac as he was known to his friends and family was an avid golfer and sportsman. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served eight years in the United States Air Force. He dedicated 28 years of service with Winn Dixie Stores retiring in 2000.The family would like to send a special thank you to the people with St. Joseph’s Hospice for their loving care and support during his final days. The family would also like to give special recognition to the St. Tammany Parish Fire Department for their special care and service to their family.The visitation will be at St Peters Catholic Church in Covington, Louisiana on Thursday December 20, 2018 10:00am – 12:00pm. Immediately following visitation will be a Funeral Mass. He will be laid to rest at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday December 20, 2018 at 3:00pm.
