Beverly Israel

A native and lifelong resident of Walker, Louisiana. She died at home surrounded by family and friends at the age of 78. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and granny. She was a retired school lunchroom manager and housewife. Survived by childhood sweetheart and husband, Arthur W. Israel, Jr. whom she was married to for 59 years. Son, Arthur W. Israel, III and wife, Tammy Daniel Israel, a loving daughter Alina and husband Mike K. Smith, sister Marilyn Glascock and husband Lacey. Sister-In-Law Theresa Israel Stutes. Five granddaughters Brittani Israel, Courtney Israel Rogers, and husband Ethan, Holly Israel Dorion, and husband Will, Hannah Israel and Sydni E. Smith. Two great-granddaughters Eliza Israel and Cornelia Rogers. Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Mother and Father, Rudolph and Aline Courtney Peak, Father-In-Law Douglas and mother-in-law Viola Woodward Talbert, grandparents Fieldon and Maude Newman Courtney, and Guy and Mary Minton Peak, brother-in-law Johnny Stutes, granddaughter Mary Catherine and grandson Tristan Wade Smith. Beverly was a very special person who loved the Lord, her family, friends and church. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years at Walker Baptist Church, She was Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Mystic Star Chapter 108 O.E.S. A very special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, nurse Jena Johnson and all the aids for all their support. Also a very special thanks to Marci Yszara for her help through this difficult time. Pallbearers are Steve Glascock, Dana Risher, Perry Joe Ellis, Kevin Devall, Ernie Zeller and Jack Sanders. Visitation at Walker Baptist Church on Monday September 3, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday September 4, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with funeral services to follow. Burial at Minton Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Rev. Mike Hegwood and Pastor Dr. Richard Blue. Church Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
