Marie Sparacello Crews passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday morning, August 19, 2018. She was born October 4, 1938 and was 79 years old. She was the beloved wife of William S. “Bill” Crews Sr., who adored her and cared for her for 55 wonderful years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Cheryl Leatherwood (John), William “Bill” Crews Jr. (Kay), Kimberly Perrilloux (David), Sharon Lobell (Bryce) and Wendy Alter. She also leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren that will miss her greatly: Jana Waguespack Didia (Obi), Lexi Crews Beech (Van), William S. “Trey” Crews III (fiancé Jenny), Brett Waguespack, Matthew Perrilloux, Isabella Perrilloux, Joshua Lobell, Jacob Lobell, Jordan Lobell, and one great-grandchild, Jayden Didia. She is also survived by a brother, Anthony “Tony” Sparacello. Marie will be welcomed home in heaven by numerous loved ones including her parents James and Theresa Abate Sparacello, sister Josie Sparacello Morales, brothers Samuel, Louis, Joe, Frank, Vincent and Jimmy Sparacello. Marie was a native of Tickfaw and resident of Prairieville for over 52 years. She was a true matriarch of not only her immediate family, but of her extended family of nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed by all of those that knew and loved her. Some of her many passions included playing cards, growing flowers and especially roses, traveling and bowling. Above all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Prairieville. Visitation is 9:30 until 11, and mass will follow. Burial will take place at Oak Lane Cemetary next to the church. A reception will immediately follow at the church hall. Pallbearers are Sammy Sparacello, Donnie Morales, James Sparacello, Ronald Sparacello, Trey Crews and Brett Waguespack. Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Perrilloux, Joshua Lobell and Jacob Lobell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. The family would like to give a sincere thank you to Canon Hospice and Griswold Home Care, Jessica, Jasmine, Charletta and Debra and a special thank you to Micah and Carla.
