Charlie Ray Achord

Charlie Ray Achord, a resident of Sorrento, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 88 years old. Charlie retired from the Pontchartrain Levee Board in 1992 and enjoyed 26 years of retirement. Visitation will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church in Sorrento on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 9:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois Achord; daughter and son in law, Cindy and Douglas Lanoux; three sons and daughters in law, Kent and Suzanne Achord, Joey and Jacqueline Achord, and Glen and Kelly Achord; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Deward and Hattie Achord; brother, Elwin Achord; sister, Jeanetta Lessard; and great-granddaughter, Rylee Achord.
