Albert “Al” Yablonsky

Albert “Al” Yablonsky of Gonzales, LA died peacefully at his home on June 23.  He was 80.   Born April 15, 1938 in Etna (Pittsburgh), PA, he was the only child of Joseph and Petronela Yablonsky.  After graduating from Carnegie Tech Univ. in 1961, Al served as a First Lt. in the US Army.  He worked as a chemical and environmental engineer for over 40 years, mostly at Ormet Aluminum in Burnside, LA and Marietta, OH, where he was credited with multiple engineering patents.  Al loved his family, his country, his cats and dogs, and woodworking.  Preceded in deaths by his parents; son, Jeff Yablonsky; former wife, Barbara Ann Salopek Yablonsky; parents in-law, Elmer and Thelma Millsaps.  Survived by his wife of almost 38 years, Jeanette “Jayne” Millsaps Yablonsky; daughter, Jill Yablonsky Dunton (Steve); son, Chris Yablonsky (Lisa); step-children, Scott Gallusser, Shawn Gallusser (Olga), and Staci Gallusser White (Nathan); “adopted” children, Debbie Reed, Tina Gant, and G. G. Yablonsky; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Special thanks to Al’s sister in-law, Betty Millsaps Williams, her husband, Albert, and niece Melissa Millsaps for their love and support. In accordance with Al’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services.
