Lorne Tedder Bourgeois, 24, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. He was born to Warren Tedder and Mona Bourgeois Tedder. In 2015, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from LSU and was awarded the prestigious University Medal for highest grade point average. He spent his junior year studying abroad in Belgium and had the opportunity to travel to 18 countries. In 2017, he graduated with a 4.0 GPA from U.N.O. with a Master’s Degree in Early Intervention Special Education. He was employed by Jefferson Parish School System where he worked with autistic children. Lorne had a huge heart filled with compassion and advocated for anyone he felt was less fortunate. He spent much of his free time planning individualized activities for his special need students. He also volunteered with C.A.S.A. (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and was proud to defend his foster care children in court. He made several mission trips to Honduras where he worked to build a school for underprivileged children. He was an avid reader and love international travel where he could learn more about various people and cultures. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Dean Tedder; his paternal grandfather, Walter Tedder; and his stepbrother, Skyler Hyland. He is survived by his mother, Mona Bourgeois Arnold; stepfather, Justin Arnold; stepsister, Heather Arnold; maternal grandparents, Barry and Barbara Bourgeois; paternal grandmother, Tina Tedder; maternal aunt, Michelle Bourgeois Bishop; paternal uncle, Walt Tedder; and three cousins, Preston Bishop, Navy Tedder, and Emma Tedder. Lorne had an infectious spirit, and he was a defender to the underdog. He always lifted those around him even when he struggled in his own life. He was witty, smart, sweet and insightful. Words cannot express the loss we feel. There will be a large hole in the hearts of those who loved him. His services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, where he regularly attended with his grandfather. Visitation will begin at 8:45 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am; with the burial immediately following at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
