Ida Roddy

A resident of Prairieville, LA and a native of Hopevilla, LA, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed peacefully on Friday May 18, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House at the age of 93. Ida was a homemaker who loved spending time with family, praying the Rosary, making Christmas candy for the family, gardening, journaling, word find puzzles, and watching Law and Order Special Victims Unit.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, LA, on Wednesday May 23 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Interment at St. Theresa Cemetery, Gonzales, LA. Services Conducted by Father Jerry Martin.

Survived by daughters; Linda Roddy Moran, Darleen Roddy Michel, and Noalie Roddy Dominguez. Sons; William (Sonny) Roddy Jr. (Susan), Joseph Roddy Sr. (Charmaine) and Terrell Roddy Sr. (Dani). Fifteen grandchildren; Stacey Rouyea Madere, Jackie Rouyea Fellows, Tracey Michel, Darla Michel Butler, Jessica Dominguez Geisler, Justin Dominguez, Ida Roddy Gaudin, Anitra Roddy Williams, Joseph Roddy Jr., Preston (P.J.) Roddy, Terrell Roddy Jr., Dr. Meghan Roddy, Cody Roddy and Cassidy Roddy. Seventeen great grandchildren; Cody Poche’, Elizabeth Fellows, Evan Fellows, Jordan Gautreau, Kaitlin Rawls, Taylor Rossi, Landon Butler, Payton Dominguez, Londyn Geisler, Slade Gaudin, Reed Gaudin, Dillon Abbess, Cora Thomas, Desiree Roddy, Raven Roddy, Chloe Roddy, and Leah Roddy. First great-great-grandchild (Gautreau) due in June. One sister Agnes Edmonston Evans.

Ida is preceded in death by her grandparents (Mama and Papa, Olivier and Leontine Cannon Daigle) who raised her from 3 weeks old after the death of her mother. Birth parents Roscoe and Ida Daigle Edmonston. Spouse; William Roddy Sr. (Bee), Daughter; Mary Theresa Roddy, Sisters; Lilly Edmonston Hacker, Wanda Edmonston Mire and brothers; Joseph Edmonston, Leo Edmonston, Alton Edmonston (Pat), and Murphy Edmonston (Chick).
