Frances Marie (West) Witmer

“Heaven’s Sounding Sweeter All Time.” Frances Marie (West) Witmer, born March 19, 1929 in Mayo, Florida, to Willie Allen West and Flora Deborah (Morgan) West, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from her home in St. Amant, Louisiana, surrounded by her family. She is survived in this life by her five children: Frances (Jerry) Kuhn, Maurice (Lynn) Witmer, Bill (Joyce) Witmer, Ernie (Terri) Witmer, Kathy (Oliver) Tanner; ten grandchildren: Chuck (Becky) Smith, Crystal (Terry) Macon, Latricia (Chris) Day, Sherry (Tommy) Hogan, Pam (Kelley) Perkins, Carson (Codie) Witmer, Jamie (Rhonda) Witmer, Monique Witmer, Scott Witmer, Eric (Lindsay) Witmer; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Flora Mae West and Debra West Morales; one brother: Woodrow (Betty) West; one brother-in-law: JW (Yvonne) Peavy; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Witmer; her parents, Bill and Flora West; brothers: Avron, N. F. and George West; sister-in-law: Ruth Witmer Peavy; nieces: Barbara West and Jo Peavy Wyatt. Marie was a long-time faithful member of St. Amant Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, served in the visitation/soul-winning ministry and was an encouragement to everyone she came in contact with. Her favorite Scripture verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Visitation will be at St. Amant Baptist Church, 10414 Acy Road, St. Amant, Louisiana, on Monday evening, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until Homegoing services at 12:00 PM conducted by Pastors: Melvin Meister and Chuck Smith. Burial to follow at the St. Amant Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Carson Witmer, Jamie Witmer, Eric Witmer, Zachary Smith, Kelley Perkins and Chris Day.
