Don E. Ficklin Sr.

A ceremony celebrating the life of Don E. Ficklin Sr., will be held 11 am Friday at St Mark Catholic Church; wake begins at 8:30 am. Interment will follow at the Ficklin Family Cemetery. Don was born on January 8, 1945 in Gonzales to the union of Perkins and Leona LeBeau Ficklin and departed from this life on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at his home after an extended illness. He was a resident of Gonzales; enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an extreme avid fan of NASCAR and the LSU Tigers. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Leon Ficklin, Betty Parent and Georgegene Ficklin, first wife Donna Cannon Ficklin. Survivors include his wife of over 48 years Peggy Acaldo Ficklin; his children Connie Guitreau (Marlin) and Don “Little Don” Ficklin Jr.; sister Virginia “Snookie” O’Shaunacy; grandchildren Harley, Zachary and Kylie; also survived by other relatives and friends.
