Phillip Grays

Detroit, Michigan. Passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Visitation will be held at King Solomon Baptist Church, Natchez MS, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018. Interment will be at the Natchez National Cemetery. He retired from General Motors in 1989 and served in the U.S. Army with honors. He was born in Natchez, Mississippi on September 15, 1926 and was baptized at an early age at the Wilderness Baptist Church in Natchez, MS. He leaves to cherish his memories one sister, Clara Bell Gaylor of Natchez, MS; daughter, Margaret E. Grays Tyson (Donald) of Baton Rouge, LA; Mary Taylor of Natchez, MS; two sons, James Grays of Woodville, MS, and Robert E. Grays of Natchez, MS; one stepdaughter, Shirley Washington of Natchez, MS. He is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Grays, Sr.; mother, Margaret Lockett; son, Henry L. Grays; grandson, Michael L. Gray; brothers, George Grays and James Bernard Grays; and sisters, Margaret Grays, Laura Grays, Octavia Grays Robertson; and Amelia Whittening.
