Charles Allen Johnston

Born in Winnsboro, raised in Sorrento, and a resident of Livingston, Louisiana, Charles “Charlie” “Allen” died suddenly after a valiant 2 day battle with heart failure, 3:15am, Feb 4, 2018, North Oaks Hospital, Hammond, La. He was 65 years old and proud to be a veteran of the US Army. He provided for his family through his occupation as a Third Party Vendor Source Inspector for Procurement Services Consulting Inc. He enjoyed many, many things among which were fishing, hunting, classic country music, reading western and espionage novels, obsessing over the daily crossword puzzle, shooting guns, cold beer, tinkering and fixing all things mechanical, The History Channel, American Pickers, war movies, LSU football, cooking Cajun cuisine, making beignets for his youngest girls, and above all, his family. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cynthia Bush Johnston. He is also survived by his children, all of whom he was so very proud; beautiful daughters Brandy Johnston (Phillip) Perault, Samantha Morris (Jay) Kessinger, Melody Faith Johnston, and Mariah Grace Johnston; handsome sons Nathan (Janelle) Johnston, Tracy (Kristi) Johnston, Joshua (Ashley) Johnston, and Kyle Morris; sisters, Rhonda (Roland) Richardson, Geri (Gary) Tanner, Carolyn (Darryl) Braud, and brother, Wade (Mona) Johnston, former spouse, Susan Quebedeaux, and 11 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Gordy and Eleanor Johnston and a brother, Stephen Dwayne Johnston. Tremendous thanks to ICU nurses Ashley, Frank, and Robin for their compassionate care during his transition from this life to the next. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb 8, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Danny Mann officiating, at Hebron Baptist Church chapel, 24063 LA-16, Denham Springs, La 70726.
